Lagos 2019: KOWA, PPA, others deny endorsing Sanwo-Olu

KOWA and some other restriction parties in Lagos on Friday denied contribution in the underwriting of the governorship hopeful of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Jide Sanwo-Olu, for 2019.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that 45 restriction parties under the Coalition of the Progressive Peoples Party were accounted for to have embraced Sanwo-Olu at a gathering on November 2.

As per the media reports, a portion of the recorded gatherings in the underwriting of Sanwo-Olu included: Progressives People’s Alliance, New Nigeria People’s Party, Kowa Party, Independent Democrats, Accord, Action Alliance, and People’s Redemption Party.

Likewise named were the Coalition for Change, Young Democratic Party, Action People’s Party, Youth Progressive Party and Better Nigeria Peoples Party and Peoples Democratic Movement.

KOWA and PPA have since denied contribution in the support, saying they were wrongly recorded.

At a news gathering on Friday in Lagos, a gathering of other resistance parties, including Independent Democrat, Accord, C4C, AA and PDM additionally denied going to the underwriting meeting.

The state director of ID, Mr. Kolawole Sunday, who talked for the benefit of the gathering, said the incorporation of their gatherings in the underwriting wasn’t right.

He said all the executives of gatherings in the gathering were not part of the arrangement, adding that the individuals who professed to host spoke to their gatherings at the underwriting service were clear impostors.

Sunday depicted the underwriting as an act, saying it was a purposeful publicity ploy by the APC to extend Sanwo-Olu as a well known competitor.

“We are alluding to the news making the rounds recommending that 45 political gatherings working in the state have supported the candidature of Babajide Sanwo-Olu of APC as the agreement hopeful of restriction parties.

“For the evasion of uncertainty, we should likewise say that individuals have the privilege to take any choice they wish to take, as this is the essential ideal to be delighted in by Nigerians as ensured in the constitution.

“What we find questionable is the endeavor to dupe clueless individuals from general society with deception.

Sunday said that he got the news about the consideration, calling attention to that he was not part of the arrangement to underwrite Sanwo-Olu.

The gathering director said the underwriting was not endorsed by the gathering, saying whoever professed to host spoken to his get-together in the arrangement was a cheat.

He asked individuals from general society to be careful about individuals mimicking pioneers of the gathering for individual additions, “as ID isn’t factionalised.”

Likewise, talking, the state administrator of Accord, Mr. Joseph Beckley, said Accord was not part of the plan since it was handling a governorship competitor.

“We are not part of the support. We were not at the gathering. It was all publicity. We have a governorship applicant and we can’t leave our possibility for another party’s,” he said.

Beckley asked individuals from the general population to ignore the news of the gathering’s association, saying Accord would not bargain its belief system for anything.

NAN reports that the state director of C4C, Mrs. Hawau Adenekan; executive of AA, Mr. Daud Magaji; Mr. Akintola Bello of Nigeria Peoples Congress; and Mr. Kolawole Ajayi of Alliance for Democracy were available at the news meeting.

The state executives of Democratic Alternative, Mr. Uduak Archibong; and Allied Peoples Movement, Dr. Ebere Imusehwere, among others, were additionally present.
